Dated source context

March of Giants originated with an Amazon-backed Montreal team, while the current saved Steam listing names Ubisoft as publisher. Amazon's December 2025 update announced the transfer of rights and the team's planned move to Ubisoft. The original Amazon announcement remains useful development history, rather than proof that Amazon is the current store publisher.

The original studio perspective

The August 27, 2025 Closed Alpha video was published by Amazon Game Studios. Its manual English caption track describes creating a Montreal studio focused on MOBA competition and combining large-scale battle ideas with individual hero play. Those captions provide the original team's stated vision, without independently establishing the actual spoken audio language.

The later transition announcement

Amazon's December 15 update says Ubisoft announced it was acquiring the game's rights. The article describes the Montreal team joining Ubisoft and marketing support from Amazon on Twitch. It expected the transaction to close by December 16, but a separate confirmation of that exact closing date is Not confirmed here.

Current identity and access

Steam names March of Giants Team as developer and Ubisoft as publisher in the saved listing. The game is described as a free-to-play four-versus-four MOBA and is still Coming soon. The announced October 2026 Pioneer Playtest is distinct from the planned Early Access window in summer 2027.
