Dated source context
The March of Giants Closed Alpha took place in September 2025, according to the development team's retrospective. It is a historical test, distinct from the October 2026 Pioneer Playtest. The full original Alpha timetable and every regional access condition are Not confirmed in the collected material.
The original announcement
Amazon Game Studios published its Closed Alpha announcement video on August 27, 2025. Its captured manual English captions describe the Montreal studio's MOBA ambitions and the combination of an industrial-war setting with Giants and Soldiers. The announcement is evidence of the project's original presentation, not a current control guide.
What changed after the test
The team says the September 2025 Closed Alpha was its first chance to observe a large group of players. It describes subsequent changes to Soldiers, Battleworks interaction, map control and itemization. New Giants and updates to the returning roster are also described, which prevents old Alpha instructions from becoming current rules automatically.
Returning for the Pioneer Playtest
The official Pioneer announcement says September 2025 Closed Alpha participants are already invited and do not need to apply again. The new test is scheduled for October 7–18, 2026. Reward thresholds, exact current builds and a complete historical Alpha calendar are Not confirmed here.
